Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu will each depart Sauber on the finish of the 2024 Formulation 1 season, the group have confirmed.
Nico Hulkenberg is already confirmed as becoming a member of the Audi-controlled group for 2025 with F2 championship chief Gabriel Bortoleto thought-about the front-runner for the second seat.
The group are but to verify who will associate Hulkenberg.
In a submit on X on Wednesday, Sauber mentioned: “After open and constructive discussions with Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu, we mutually concluded that conditions to continue together could not be met so we agreed that it is time to part ways.
“We wish to thank each for the contribution they’ve made to the group within the final three years.
“They have been the embodiment of professionalism, using their experience and enthusiasm to support our growth.”
In separate press releases confirming the end-of-season exit of every driver after the ultimate three rounds of this season, Bottas mentioned: “A state of affairs like that is by no means straightforward for anybody. However in any case the great and in-depth discussions we had up to now weeks, we realised that the situations to develop this mission collectively weren’t met.
“These past years with the team have been an incredible journey, full of growth, challenges, and unforgettable moments. I’m grateful for the joint experiences as well as the trust and support I’ve felt every step of the way.
“Although it is time to transfer on, I am going to at all times carry a chunk of this group with me, and I stay up for seeing what the long run holds for us each.”
